PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a power bogie of a railway rolling stock for supporting a great part of mass of an electric motor and mass of a speed reduction gear box by a vehicle body via structurally simple and inexpensive machine parts small in the number of part items.;SOLUTION: This power bogie 4 includes wheel shafts 6, a chassis 10, the electric motor 36, the speed reduction gear box 18, means 18, 36 for driving the respective wheel shafts including a motive power transmitting means between the electric motor and the speed reduction gear box 18 and means 30, 42, 54 arranged for enabling a rolling stock to support a driving means. The means for supporting the driving means includes the means 30 continuously connected to the speed reduction gear box or the body for suspending the speed reduction gear box 18 from the vehicle body 14, the means 42 for continuously connecting the electric motor 36 to the chassis 10 of the bogie with an almost horizontal shaft as the center and the means 54 continuously connected to both of the electric motor and the speed reduction gear box for connecting the electric motor 36 to the speed reduction gear box 18.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
