PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To finely and uniformly disperse photoconductive zinc oxide powder in a solution of an insulating organic resin with high efficiency without mechanochemically modifying the powder which principally imparts photoconductivity in the production of a fine dispersion of photoconductive zinc oxide for an electrophotographic photoreceptor using the powder as a photoconductive material and the organic resin as a vehicle component and to establish a method for producing a fine dispersion of photoconductive zinc oxide for an electrophotographic photoreceptor giving a photoconductive layer which has superior sensitivity and withstands printing repeated many times without lowering sensitivity as the electrophotographic photoreceptor or causing discoloration. ;SOLUTION: Photoconductive zinc oxide powder is dispersed in a solution containing an insulating organic resin and an organic sensitizing dye in a solvent and the resulting dispersion is treated under 3-30 MPa pressure by passing through a wet jet mill in such a way that the powder is made fine and uniformly dispersed in the solution.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
