PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a fixation method whereby a preliminarily separately prepared DNA fragment can be bound to a solid phase carrier surface by a quick reaction and a reaction product can stably maintain the binding. ;SOLUTION: According to the method for immobilizing the DNA fragment to the solid phase carrier surface, the DNA fragment is brought in contact in a liquid phase to the surface of a fixed bed of the solid phase carrier which has the fixed bed of inorganic fine particles dispersed in a hardening film of a water soluble resin bridged by a crosslinking agent, whereby the DNA fragment is immobilized at one terminal part to the surface of the fixed bed. A DNA chip is obtained by the method, and a complementary nucleic acid fragment to the DNA fragment on the DNA chip is detected in a method using the DNA chip.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
