PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new allergen derived from Japanese cedar pollens different from Cry jI or Cry jII which is a known allergen derived from the Japanese cedar pollens, a Japanese cedar pollen extract reactive with the new allergen and capable of detecting patients suffering from Japanese cedar pollinosis and a diagnostic reagent using the extract.;SOLUTION: An extract from Japanese cedar pollens is obtained by adding an allergen which is a protein contained in the Japanese cedar pollens, having 57,000-67,000 Da molecular weight according to an SDS-polyacrylamide electrophoresis and an isoelectric point within the range of pH 7.0-9.0 according to an isoelectric focusing in the presence of the SDS and derived from the Japanese cedar pollens in an amount of ≥10 wt.% expressed in terms of the amount of the protein to a natural crude extract from the Japanese cedar pollens. The diagnostic reagent for allergies uses the extract.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
