PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adaptive array antenna receiver simple in configuration, having spatial diversity effect and capable of performing a transmission high in sensitivity and interference resistance. ;SOLUTION: This receiver has antennas 11 to 13, an antenna switch 2 which switches the antennas, receiving circuits 3, 5, 6, and 40 which outputs a base band signal composed of an intermediate-frequency signal and two orthogonal and in-phase components by performing the frequency conversion and amplification of a receive signal, a transversal filter 7 which inputs the output signal of the receiving circuit and has a tap interval equal to the switching interval of the antenna switch 2, an error detection part 91 which compares the output signal of the transversal filter with a reference signal, and a tap coefficient update part 90 which controls the tap coefficient of the transversal filter according to the output signal of the error detection part. The antenna switch 2 is so constituted that an integral multiple of the switching interval is a symbol cycle of the receive signal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
