PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new protein which has a specific amino acid sequence, is encoded by ribosome-recycling factor gene derived from Vibrio parahaemolyticus, and can be used for screening a substance useful for treating and preventing the enteritis caused by V. parahaemolyticus and so on.;SOLUTION: This is a new protein which has the amino acid sequence shown by the formula, is encoded by ribosome-recycling factor(RRF) gene derived from Vibrio parahaemolyticus, and is useful for screening a compound inhibiting the activity of RRF effective for treating and preventing the enteritis caused by V parahaemolyticus and so on. This protein was obtained by screening a genome library derived from V. parahaemolyticus using a fragment prepared by carrying out PCR at a region having a high homology compared with the amino acid sequence of RRF derived from Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa as a probe, incorporating the obtained gene into a vector, followed by expressing the obtained vector in a host cell.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
