PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save consuming power and simplify the total constitution of a control system.;SOLUTION: This road tunnel illumination control system is equipped with a PV module 1 generating power according to the brightness in a tunnel opening and outputting DC power; a PV inverter 2 having an inverter part 21 for converting the DC power into AC power, an arithmetic means 22 for conducting the maximum power following control of the inverter part so as to always obtain the maximum power based on DC voltage from the PV module 1 and computing the number of lighting fixtures capable of illumination from capacity based on the outputting power amount, and a control means 23 selecting a illumination mode based on the computing result and outputting a control signal conducting switching of a illumination means; and illumination means 3, 4 classified by a mode, connected to the output side of the inverter part 21 according to the illumination mode and having the different number of lighting fixtures, and switching of the lighting fixtures of the illumination means 3, 4 classified by a mode of the illumination modes selected with a control signal from the control means 23 is conducted, and brightness in the entrance of a tunnel is adjusted by stages.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
