Process for the manufacture of esters of 1,3-propanediol and improved production process for ester by reaction of PRINS.The present invention relates to esters of 1,3-propanediol, preferably diesters can be manufactured using modified PRINS reaction through the reaction of ethylene.Formaldehyde and a carboxylic acid, using a perfluorocarboxilato or perfluoroalquilsulfonato selected as catalyst.Are also described reactions of PRINS for improved manufacture of esters using formic acid as a carboxylic acid. The esters are useful as monomers and chemical intermediates.
