METHOD FOR ENHANCING THE IMMUNOTHERAPEUTIC ACTIVITY OF LYMPHOCYTES TO DECREASE THE TUMOR BURDEN BY STIMULATION OF LYMPHOCYTES IN VITRO IN THE PRESENCE OF ANTI- CD3-ANTIBODY AND BY CO- ADMINISTRATION OF IL-2, KITS CONTAINING SUCH ENHANCED LYMPHOCYTES AND THEIR USE IN PREPARATION OF A MEDICAMENT FOR CANCER THERAPY
The use of (a) a therapeutic amount of stimulated lymphocytes effective to decrease the tumor burden of a mammal, wherein said lymphocytes are stimulated in vitro in the presence of an anti-CD3 monoclonal antibody for less than about 24 hours; and (b) an amount of IL-2 effective for enhancing the immunotherapeutic activity of the stimulated lymphocytes in vivo, in the preparation of an agent for use in a method of cancer therapy, subtantially as described in the specification, wherein a tumor-bearing mammal is treated with said therapeutic amount of stimulated lymphocytes and said effective amount of IL-2, whereby the immunotherapeutic activity of the lymphocytes is enhanced in vivo as represented by a decrease in the tumor burden by at least 20%. 1946 ז' באלול התשס" א - August 26, 2001
