Cable ducting system for railway embankments, comprises pre=fabricated length direction ducting and cable well sections with cooperating cavities

The ducting (4) forming the cable channel (2) extending in the embankment length direction comprises a special pre-fabricated first ducting (4a) with a centrally positioned cavity that extends all the way through the side wall between the first ducting and cable well (6). The axial dimensions of the cavity are essentially half the internal diameter of the well, which is pre-fabricated. The well has a lateral cavity in its top side, extending from the outside of the well and bordered by a horizontal surface in the well wall for supporting the first ducting, and by two vertical surfaces (12, 13) of the well wall in contact with the vertical side of the first ducting with the cavity in it. A second ducting with a relatively passage part can be mounted inside the length direction cable channel so that the cavity in the first ducting is located within the inside of the well. The ducting system is used to form a connection between a length direction cable channel and a cross-direction cable channel (3). The length direction cable channel comprises ducting pieces with a U-shaped cross-section. The cross-direction cable channel comprises a cable well connected to at least one cable tube (7) for guiding one or more cables to a nearby electrical installation. An Independent claim is also included for a method of connecting length and cross-direction cable channels in a railway embankment.
