Presently, there are no papillomavirus-specificantigens that have unambiguously identified as being eitherexpressed during, or indicative of, latent human papillomavirus(HPV). The present invention relates to polypeptides thatimmunologically mimic human papillomavirus latent proteins andto antibodies and monoclonal antibodies that immunoreact withhuman papillomavirus latent proteins. Systems and methods fordetecting the presence and type of papillomavirus in a humansubject are also described.
