Currently there are many different types of smoke detectors. There are onesdesigned fordetecting smoke that is emitted from fires and there are detectors that aredesigned fordetecting carbon monoxide emitted from various sources (eg. furnaces, cars,fires). Bothemissions are deadly and have caused numerous deaths.Today laws have been passed making it mandatory for all households to haveworkingdetectors but there have been many reported cases of people dying not becausethey didnot have the detectors but because the batteries had been removed and notreplaced. Thisinvention will prevent both adults and children from easily removing thebatteries fromthese life saving devices therefore allowing smoke and carbon monoxidedetectors to befunctioning at all times.
