SHC-ASSOCIATED PROTEIN 140 (SAP-140)

SAP140 is a novel Shc Associating Protein isolated by binding to the tyrosine phosphatase Lyp. SAP is expressed in hematopoietic cells and is involved in signal transduction through both antigen and cytokine receptor pathways. SAP140 is pre-activated in Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Manipulation of the activity of SAP may be of therapeutic value in AML and ALL and in uncontrolled T cell diseases or disease of the hematopoietic system in general.
