Method and control device for determining gear shift points for shifting an automated manual gear box

The method involves determining the vehicle speed in automatic gearbox mode and controlling gear change times depending on the detected speed. The vehicle speed is determined from wheel revolution rates of opposite wheels (10a,10b) on an axle and a mean value of the revolution rates for the two wheels is used as the basis for determining the vehicle speed. An Independent claim is also included for a controller for determining switching times for gear changes in an automated manual gearbox.
