The invention relates to an internal-axis rotary piston engine with a crescent wing such as is disclosed in German patent application P 197 29 615. The dimensions and corresponding relations for engines of that kind are invariably chosen such that the sealing gaps are always very narrow and that on 2/3 of the rotation of the inner rotor there is only a simple strip seal between the pressure and the suction channel and that the remaining seals are face seals or double-strip seals and that only on 1/3 of the rotation two simple strip seals are provided. The invention further relates to embodiments of the inventive engine that allow an adjustment of two control edges across the entire axial length. According to the embodiments of the invention two or more engines or engine steps can be operated with only one synchronization transmission and few journals.
