PURPOSE: To provide a friction clutch, and an automobile automatic transmission, an automobile continuously variable transmission, an automobile power distributing device and a motorcycle power transmission using the friction clutch reducible in wear in a sliding state. CONSTITUTION: In the radially opposed constitution of a pair of clutch members 1 with a plurality of rollers 2 placed in between, an angle 1 of a rolling axis of each roller 2 to the rotation axis of the clutch member 1 is set to be larger than 5deg. and smaller than 20deg., and an angle 1 of the rolling axis of each roller 2 to a plane including the rotation axis of the clutch member 1 is set to be larger than 25deg. and smaller than 90deg. to generate constantly stable frictional force. In this case, when axial load is applied to the clutch member 1, sliding friction is generated while each roller 2 rolls, so that wear is extremely small compared to the structure of clutch plates coming in face contact with each other like a multiple disc clutch.
