A system for providing a client callback includes a client application and a client having a client firewall capable of blocking client callback from the server to the client application. This server includes the server firewall and the server workspace. This server workspace has a permissibility framework that associates data protected by this server firewall with this predefined data type with the client application. The server workspace can create a client callback for this client application when a predetermined data type is present. A server-side proxy can provide client application access to the server workspace through this server firewall. The client application may be connected to the server workspace via this server-side proxy to receive this client callback.
