PURPOSE: A process for preparing TiC based surface reinforced composite material comprising matrix metal, a heat-affected zone formed on the matrix metal and a surface composite layer formed on the heat-affected zone using accelerated electron beam is provided, which improves productivity and reduces the cost of production. CONSTITUTION: The titled compound is prepared by the process consisting of: uniformly coating mixture powder of TiC and a solvent on a base metal; pressing the coated mixture powder and compacting; dispersing TiC into the specified depth from the surface of matrix metal by projecting accelerated electron beam on the matrix metal covered with compact mixture powder; and depositing the dispersed TiC in article form.
