METHOD FOR PREPARING ACTIVATED CARBON POWDER FOR ELECTRIC DOUBLE LAYER CAPACITOR

PURPOSE: A method for preparing an activated carbon powder for an electric double layer capacitor is provided which controls fine pores of the activated carbon for the electric double layer capacitor by adding an additive for controlling the fine pores in a manufacturing step of the activated carbon. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of: (i) dissolving a polymer compound such as furan resin, phenol resin or mixtures thereof and a fine pore forming additive in an organic amine solvent; (ii) adding the solution obtained from the step (i) to an acid aqueous solution; (iii) hardening the separated polymer compound with stirring the polymer compound in the acid aqueous solution; (iv) filtering the separated polymer compound; (v) washing and drying the filtered polymer compound; and (vi) heating the dried polymer compound under non-oxidizing atmosphere to carbonize it.
