PURPOSE: A brand watch method and apparatus is provided to increase the reliability on searching a similar brand by searching various forms of similar brands according to various conditions. CONSTITUTION: Information on official reports on a brand is received from an operator terminal. A database of the information is constructed. At least one is extracted and stored among an initial consonant, a medial vowel and a final consonant in a pronunciation of the brand name. Information on an object brand for searching a similar brand is inputted from a customer terminal. At least one is extracted and stored among an initial consonant, a medial vowel and a final consonant in a pronunciation of the object brand name. It is judged whether the brand is similar. A judgment result is outputted.
