A method of producing a brass material produced by cold processing, particularly, a brass tube with improved cuttability and polishability, comprising an alpha-conversion heat-treatment step for increasing an area ratio of an alpha-phase before cold processing to secure cold ductility at the time of cold processing and a beta-conversion heat-treatment step for increasing an area ratio of a beta-phase after cold processing to obtain a brass tube excellent in cuttability and polishability.
