FIELD: polymer production. SUBSTANCE: catalytic systems based on IVB group metallocene or pseudo-metallocene complexes, organoaluminum compounds, and perfluorophenyl borates allow performing catalytic polymerization of ethylene to form low-molecular branched polyethylene with efficiency comparable to or exceeding activity of systems including MAO as cocatalyst in high-molecular polyethylene synthesis. In particular, dialkyl- derivatives of IVB group metallocene or pseudo-metallocene complexes, trialkylaluminum, and perfluorophenyl borates are employed. Activity- and property-controlled synthesis of low-molecular branched polyethylene is accomplished through selecting ligands for metallocene complexes and polymerization conditions.
