STRAIN PARAMYXOVIRUS CANIS USED FOR CONTROL OF VACCINE ANTIGEN ACTIVITY AND PREPARING SPECIFIC SERUM AND ANTIGEN FOR DIAGNOSIS OF PARAMYXOVIRAL INFECTION IN DOGS

FIELD: veterinary science, virology. SUBSTANCE: strain Paramyxovirus canis "Rikan" is obtained from virus isolate Paramyxovirus canis isolated from sick puppy (two months old, rotweiler strain) with symptoms of acute respiratory disease by successive passages in primary trypsinized dog puppy kidney cell culture. Strain is deposited in the collection of microorganisms of All-Russian State Scientific-Research Institute of control, standardization and certification of veterinary preparations and has registration number 33 DEP. Strain shows the stable infectious activity in cultured cells and hemagglutinating activity in reaction of hemagglutination inhibition. Strain is able to induce formation of specific antibodies in laboratory animals in titers (1:64)-(1:256). Use of the strain Paramyxovirus canis "Rekan" VGNKI N 33 under working conditions ensures to estimate the quality of biopreparations against paramyxoviral infection in dogs with increased reliability and to carry out serological diagnosis of this disease.
