SUBSTANCE: method includes reduction of nickel protoxide with production of powder of crude nickel which is further subjected to treatment in presence of reducing agent by electric arc smelting of crude nickel powder with bulk density of not less than 2.7 t/cu.m, degree of metallization is at least 90% and specific power consumption, 950-1050 kWh/t.
