FIELD: recovery of liquid radioactive wastes by concentrating, sorbing, decontaminating, and case-hardening them. SUBSTANCE: spent radioactive coolants and solutions are concentrated by evaporation or reverse osmosis up to saturation with salts. Then solution is additionally decontaminated by ion- exchange demineralization with sorbents, concentrated wastes are solidified by case-hardening and disposed. Coolants and solutions may be prepared using demineralized water including that obtained in decontaminating spent solutions. Proposed method provides for decreasing volume of wastes to be disposed by ten times and for reducing fouling of working surfaces of waste concentrating apparatuses. EFFECT: reduced volume of disposed wastes with their water-tightness brought down to safe burial standards.
