FIELD: iron based-alloys (steels) having combination of memory of shape damping properties. SUBSTANCE: steel comprises, wt %: Mn, 5-50; N, 0.01-0.8; and Fe, the balance. Steel further comprises, wt %: Cr, 0.1-20.0; CO, 0.1-20.0; Si, 0.1-8.0; Cu, 0.1-3.0; V, 0.1-1.0; Nb, 0.1-1.0; Mo, 0.1-3.0; C, 0.01-1.0; rare-earth metals, 0.0005-0.02 at certain proportions.
