FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: proposed method may be found useful for manufacturing electroacoustic and electromechanical transducers, gas filters, static electricity shielding facilities. Powdered or granulated iodine, 1.2-diamine-9.20-rachinon ammoniate, and 1-oxy-9.10- anthraquinone are placed on bottom of glass flask. Item to be modified such as film, fiber, net, solid polymeric dielectric granules, for example, those of polymethyl methacrylate, are placed in same flask. The later is closed and evacuated to 10-1- 10-2 Pa. Bottom part of flask is placed in thermostat and heated to temperature T = (1.3-1.6) Tg, where Tg is glass transition temperature of polymer. As soon as mixture concentration is brought to (3-5)•10-3 mole/l, item is cooled down. Volume conductivity of modified polymer may increase by 56-24000 times or decrease by 140 times; surface charge density may grow by 7-9 times or reduce by 30 times; Young's modulus, yield point, and strength do not change.
