The seat and backrest are connected rotatable together about a horizontal axis (4) and are locked in the normal position by a bolt (12) which is axially movable between a support position and a rest position. The bolt is moved from the support to the rest position when moving the seat and/or backrest into a non-use position and conversely the bolt is moved from the rest position to the support position when the seat and/or backrest is moved into the normal useful position. In the normal useful position of the seat the bolt is supported on the seat frame or other support structure.
