Production of pi -conjugated polymers (I) comprises (A) complexation of a monomeric compound with a cyclodextrin and (B) polymerization of the complexed compound with a chemical oxidizing agent. An Independent claim is included for a process for the production of through hole circuit boards and multilayers by application of (I) onto the walls of the holes with an acid treatment to form an electrically conductive layer and galvanic deposition of a metal.
