Production of hybrid component (21), in compound metal/plastics structure, comprises, mold having two moving sections (4,5), which are brought together to shape metal plate (2) into profiled body (6) by deep drawing. A plastics material is injected into the mold (3) to be keyed to the shaped body (6). After cooling, the mold sections (4,5) are separated and the hybrid component (21) is removed.
