One(6) or more raised circumferential blocks(4-8) of the tire tread(3) is made of a magnetic or magnetized material(14) from a point on the tread surface to a radially inner point. A sensor(15) mounted on the vehicle is connected to an analysing unit(16) which, when the magnetic material and tread wear down to a specified level(13), detects the absence of the magnetic material and emits a warning signal.
