The far end of the drive band (19) is fixed to the drive shaft (17) and wound round the same way as the first end of the band so the band forms a closed loop (25) between the shaft (17) entries (36,37). Torque absorbers in the form of gas producers (24) fixed to the housing prevent the band (19) unrolling off the drive shaft (17) as the fired gas producers make contact with the drive band itself (19). The producer gas outlet (26) issues within the closed band loop (25). A loop shaper within the loop forms the outside of the loop line (28) round the shaft (17) and takes up the torque, being close spaced from the shaft (17) specifically to form a heart shaped loop whose side tabs join up close to the shaft circumference in the inflated condition of the loop.
