The seat back of the motor vehicle's seat is pretensioned by a torsion bar suspension(4) formed by torsion bar springs(4a,4b) which are spaced apart over their whole length. The torsioning sections of the torsion bar springs extend at right angles to the axis of inclination of the seat back. One end of the torsioning sections of the different torsion bar springs extend concentrically to the axis of inclination, and one end of both torsion bar springs is fastened and torsionally fixed to the seat section while the respective other ends are torsionally fixed on the seat back.
