The sensor (12) is mounted in the door (10) of a motor vehicle to determine a change in air pressure in the event of a collision. The sensor is connected directly or indirectly to an engine controller (16) and provides it with an air pressure signal. The sensor is connected to a bus system (14) via which the air pressure signal is propagated.
