The electromagnet (2,3) has a yoke (2a,3a) with an electrical winding (2b,3b) and an armature (7) opposite the poles of the yoke. The laminated yoke has an arrangement (8-10) for holding lamella packets together. Yoke side plates (8,9) are mounted on the lateral surface, preferably the outer lateral surface, and over its depth and the lamellas are at least partly welded, soldered, stuck or connected in a shape-locking manner to the side plates.
