A bending moment is exerted on a mast (1) on the ground (2), against its elastic restoring force, using a hydraulic cylinder (3). The mast is subjected to self oscillation centering around a deflection position (b), and the deflection of the mast is detected by a measurement unit. An independent claim is also included for bending strength testing device.
