The method involves determining maximum value of light wind load acting on target remaining life of mast (3). The bending moment at lamp base (6) or mast is determined from determined maximum value of light wind load. The torque is calculated by multiplying determined bending moment with safety factors, and is manually applied via torque wrench (4) by adapter (5) onto lamp base. The deformation at lamp base or mast is evaluated, to determine whether mast at determined maximum value of light wind load is obtained as damage-free mast.
