System for testing the bending strength of the foot (2) of a mast (1) that is anchored in the ground (3), where said mast is manufactured from a relatively brittle material such as concrete. To measure the bending strength at least two partial bending loads (P1-P3) are applied at different heights up the mast. The applied load is approximately equal to the minimum testing load and the partial loads vary proportionally with mast diameter. An Independent claim is included for a method for bending mast bending strength.
