The cap unit has a housing (1) with a lid (4), whereby the lid is located flat with respect the upper surface of the road/pavement. At least one section of the housing is built so as to taper like a truncated cone in the direction if the ground. A flange section of the housing transfers forces from the cap into the frost-protection region. The flange section is located projecting into the ground beneath the lower end of the housing.
