The method involves arranging sensors (5-7) along the periphery of shaft bearing at predetermined intervals. The measuring points are fixed at intervals of angle segments depending on arrangement of sensors. The signal components corresponding to fixed measuring points and other points are determined based on output of sensors, to generate separate signals, which are, and which are not, due to shaft oscillation.
