The method involves connecting a crankshaft with an asymmetrical partition by a sensing wheel (1) with teeth (3) and a tooth spacing (4). A differential sensor (6) is attached to the wheel, where the sensor produces an output signal i.e. square wave signal, which is a difference of signals of two sensor units (7). Output signals of the sensor units are utilized for determining an angle of rotation of the crankshaft additional to the output signal of the sensor. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an arrangement for determining an angle of rotation of a crankshaft of an internal-combustion engine (2) a sensor for use in an arrangement for determining angle of rotation of a crankshaft (3) a computer program having a set of instructions to perform a method for determining an angle of rotation of a crankshaft of an internal-combustion engine.
