The earthing system has an antenna element, a coaxial antenna feed cable (52), which has a central conductor (54) and a dielectric layer enclosing the central conductor, whereby the central conductor is electrically coupled to the antenna element, and a vehicle body panel (60) with an edge (74) near the antenna element. The feed cable is attached to the body panel near the edge so that the screening is capacitively coupled to the panel top provide antenna earthing.
