The method involves supplying fibres from a dispenser through a supply shaft (10) at negative pressure to a fibre roller (17), which has a number of pins (18) arranged on its surface. The fibres and glue are guided by the pins along a shaft section (22) formed between a section (20) of the roller edge and a wall (21) and are accelerated by an air flow (38) to the outer rotation speed of the roller. The fibres are pushed out from the roller by centrifugal force and lie against a section of the wall that is not contacted by the pins. The fibres are glued in the area of the wall section or near the end of the wall section and are delivered to an exit opening (23) of the shaft section.
