In a spinning assembly where staple fibres are fed to a spinning jet, the gap between the take-off rollers (7) after the spinning jet assembly (6), in the direction of yarn travel, and the end rollers (4) of the drawing unit is shorter than the length of the longest fibres (f) of the fibre supply. Pref. the spinning jet assembly (6) applies a swirling air stream to form a balloon in the sliver (S) with a false twist. The jet assembly (6) has two jets (5a, 5b) with air stream jets (Na, Nb) set so that the air at each jet is in an opposing direction to the other. The ends of part of the sliver (S) fibres are free through the action of the first jet (5a) and given a false twist through the effect of the other jet (5b). USE/ADVANTAGE - The assembly is for jet spinning staple fibres into a yarn. The structured layout prevent yarn breaks and faults between the drawing unit and take-off rollers.
