The personal rescue equipment comprises a tie rod (1) provided with a toothed rod (11) associated with a gear wheel (32) provided inside the base body (3) through which the tie rod is passed. A push-fit plate (36) extends up out from the base body and is opposite a fixed insert plate (2) which can be fixed rapidly on the tie rod. For use the fixed plate and push fit plate are fitted together and pressed into the interspace of the blocked door and the key (4) for the gearwheel is turned to turn the gear wheel which moves the toothed rod so that the base body is moved in a direction opposite the fixed plate and the door can be forced open.
