A melt spinning plant has the casing (5) holding the air cooling section mounted on a slide (26) so that it can be moved vertically by an actuator (14). In its upper position it is sealed (6) against the housing (1) containing the melt distribution system (2) and spinnerets (3). The cooling air connection is made through a flexible hose.
