New complex of human immune deficiency virus envelope glycoprotein with CD4, useful as immunogen for vaccines, is deglycosylated enzymatically and generates neutralizing antibodies

Protein complex (A) comprising an envelope glycoprotein (I) of human immune deficiency virus (HIV) and a CD4 that is produced by (i) mixing (I) and CD4 at ratio (moles of the monomer of (I) to moles soluble CD4)1:0.2-2 and (ii) enzymatic deglycosylation of the complex formed. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) composition comprising a mixture of (A); (2) antibody (Ab) directed against (A); and (3) anti-HIV vaccine containing at least one (A), diluent or carrier and optionally at least one adjuvant.
