A culturing device (I) has chambers divided in two by a deformable membrane. One part receives cells or tissue and is supplied with a culturing fluid from a reservoir. The other part has an inlet to receive a pressurized gas from a supply circuit and a gas outlet. Control devices determine the shape of the membrane by selecting the gas, its pressure and duration of supply. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) (I) where the control devices also control the circulation and supply of the fluid; and (2) a method for culturing cells or tissue using (I) where the control devices also control the circulation and supply of the fluid.
