A coupling element (6) links the disc (2) to the hub (10) while having one face integral in translation with the U-shaped element (41) and the other integral in translation with the disc face (21). The element is deformable until a limit (K) which is equal to the desired play (J) between disc and brake. Disc (2) is supported by a support (1) integral in rotation with a hub (10) integral with the wheels. The disc has two faces (21,22) in contact with braking surfaces (31,32) when the piston (5) forces the pile (21,2,22) in abutment against the face of the U-shaped element (41). An Independent claim is also included for the method of braking.
