PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat quantity measuring method and apparatus therefor capable of obtaining the heat quantity of coagulation and heat quantity of fusion with high accuracy with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A predetermined amt. of a slurry 21 being a latent heat accumulating material constituted of a microcapsule which comprises an org. film substance wherein a core substance based on a latent heat accumulating substance accompanied by a phase change is encapsulated and a liquid is held to predetermined temp. and this slurry 21 is mixed with a predetermined amt. of a cooling or heating medium with known physical properties held to predetermined temp. and the temp. of the slurry 21 after mixing is measured and at least one of the heat quantity of coagulation and heat quantity of fusion of the core substance is measured on the basis of the measured temp.
